Official: Dortmund midfielder Ozcan joins Wolfsburg on loan; reportedly no buyout clause

Beijing time on August 28 early morning, Wolfsburg officially announced the loan of Dortmund midfielder Ozcan. According to the previous report of "Kicker", the loan agreement does not include a buyout clause.

The club introduced Ozcan in the defensive midfielder position. The Turkish international was loaned from Dortmund. In addition to international competition experience, the 26-year-old player also has excellent interception ability.

Wolfsburg head coach Hasenhüttl said: "We are very happy that Ozcan has joined Wolfsburg. His mentality and playing style make him a perfect addition to our midfield. We believe that his qualities will be of great benefit to our game."

Ozcan said: "After very good communication, I am very happy to be in Wolfsburg now. The club and the team are definitely in a position to participate in European competitions. I will try my best to contribute my strength, go all out and show my abilities on the court. I hope we can have a successful season."

The Cologne-born player grew up in the youth training camp of the Cologne club and became a professional player here. After a short loan to Holstein Kiel and several outstanding performances for Cologne in the 2021-2022 season, Ozcan moved to Dortmund in the summer of 2022.

The 1.83-meter-tall midfielder played 70 official games for Dortmund, including 16 Champions League games. In the Turkish national team, he has 22 appearances. At the 2024 European Cup in Germany, he started twice and came on as a substitute twice.
