Official: Salernitana midfielder Wengowski joins Yverdon Sports on loan

Yverdon Sports officially announced that Salernitana midfielder Wengowski has joined the team on loan until the end of this season.

Wengowski, 21 years old, made his debut in Szczecin Pogon and was loaned to Valencia U19. He made 47 appearances in the Polish Super League and contributed 4 goals and 4 assists. In the summer of 2023, he joined Salernitana and played 32 times for the team in Serie A and the Italian Cup, contributing 1 assist.

Salernitana has loaned Wengowski to Yverdon Sports for one season. Yverdon Sports Director Giovagnoli said: "Mateusz is a very comprehensive midfielder with strong athletic ability and the ability to put a lot of energy into the game. He is an excellent player with or without the ball and he will bring a lot to us."

Wengowski made his debut for the Polish national team in September 2022. He is currently an active U21 international and has played 14 times.
